Weekend Update

I thought I'd post a quick weekend update before we're off to bed.

Thursday evening I started feeling not-so-hot, and Friday morning I was pretty sure I was coming down with something. I guess two weeks of long hours will do that to a person. :) It's under control with medicine right now, which we are very thankful for. :)

After work on Friday, Matt picked up his buddy and best man, Tyson. Tyson is a pilot, so he hopped on a plane to spend the weekend with us. We went out to eat Friday night to discovere the college students have arrived back in town en masse. But, we did get a free appetizer from the restaurant out of the gobs of college students also waiting for tables (they asked to bump us to have enough space for an 18 person group). After a tasty meal we headed home. Matt and Tyson watched some Monk/Psych/House action while I... don't really remember what I did. I was feeling kind of crummy, and Matt suggested I go to bed. I took his advice (although I was very glad when he joined me). :)

On Saturday the guys played (dug up roots) in the yard a little bit. Then Matt showed Tyson around town, including campus. They returned for lunch, and then they ran errands with Sammy and me (we took her to PetSmart to pick out 2 chew toys--hoping to combat the puppy chewyness we see on the horizon). Then they ran back out to Publix to pick up some food to grill for dinner. After dinner they returned to Publix once again to get me medicine. :)

This morning Matt took Tyson to the airport before church, then he and I headed for church a couple of hours later. After church we had lunch, and then Matt got out some more root balls and trimmed the side hedges while I did dishes and straightened up (and took a nap... or two).

Sammy is now sound asleep and we're getting ready for bed. I have lesson plans written for the week, although I'm still learning what will actually challenge this group (a good problem)! :) Hopefully I can find some fun and creative ways to do that.

I guess that's about all for now. We're hoping to have some more time to relax together now that the house is all picked up (it received a good once over in preparation for Tyson's arrival) and my lesson plans are written. We're really ready for some evenings where we can come home and kick back together. The last two weeks were crazy for me, and the two weeks before that were nuts for Matt. Four weeks of CRAZY work in a row is starting to drag. :) But we hope things turn around a bit this week.

Okay, I am OFF to bed! Oh the joys of early school mornings. Two weeks until Labor Day weekend (and 13.5 until Thanksgiving)!! Not to mention, our anniversary in less than 2 months and E's wedding the end of October (it's coming SO FAST!!!)!!! Fun times ahead!

Blessings to you!
Becca
