The day started off all well and good. The kids were great again. I've had ONE child make it to -5 minutes of recess (they walk laps instead of playing) since school started. And maybe 3 have had to move their clips for a warning. It's amazing! I have large groups (compared to last year--but I can't believe you have 35, E!!!), but they are so good about staying quiet. It makes it all so much more pleasant for everyone, I think. :)
Anyway, school was fine. Then I came home, took care of Sammy, and relaxed a little. I decided to start making dinner. That's when the trouble started. I was trying to switch the water to "spray" and broke the faucet in the process! As in, there is a clean cut, straight break. The part that broke off plopped into the sink, and I stared dumbfounded as water STREAMED past me into the den! It was shooting probably 10-12 feet! As if in slow motion, I reached forward and turned off the water at the handle (thankfully the WHOLE faucet did not break). I then got to mop up the floor in the den and call Matt (who was so sweet about it). We have a wonderful DEEP sink and a great HIGH faucet. I never had to worry about fitting a big pot or pan under the faucet or in the sink. I know faucets are expensive though, so I was really sad to think we might have to get some dippy little faucet and I wouldn't have as much "play" when filling pots or washing dishes (there's nothing like a sink that easily meets all your "needs").
Well, praise the Lord, some generous friends gave us Home Depot and Lowe's gift cards when we got married. We saved them for "when we get a house." Isn't God like that--having something waiting for us exactly when we needed it. We ended up getting a faucet at Lowe's with a great reputation, that comes up high, has the regular water or spray water like our old faucet, has the pull out handle for maneuvering, and it even has a soap dispenser if we ever want to install that (we prefer our filtered water dispenser at the moment--Florida water tastes.... interesting). We are SO thankful. Matt is preparing to install it right now. Praise the Lord! :)
Lastly, Sammy seems to be growing, growing, GROWING! She is also entering the chewy stage. While out at Lowe's, we stopped to get some "bitter apple" spray to deter her from partaking of our furniture or floor boards. :) We hope it works! She also had a little "tricks" session with me, and is doing WONDERfully at sitting! Now we're working on adding "lay down." "Come" would be a good one, too. ;) I am also determined to try as hard as I can to get her to catch a treat from her nose like Ellie can. I think she needs to be bigger and older for that though. Especially since she goes CRAZY the instant she sees her treat bag (Publix brand milkbones). She gets only 1/day (if that), so they are a super special treat. After her one bone today, I used corn flakes (we're out of Cheerios), and those were quite a hit as well.
I guess that's about all for now. We are glad it's almost halfway through the week! Here are some pictures of our sweet Sammy. :)

Hey Becca!! I was laughing at work when i read this story of your faucet! I can see it in my mind...would have done the same thing...why do our brains shut down and go in slow motion when we need them to snap to? that always seems to happen! i am so glad you were able to fix it and that your class is doing well. i LOVE hearing about how you are doing! have a great rest of the week! love, B<><
