We decided to give Sammy her first bath today after her walk. It is hot here in Gainesville, and she was beginning to smell a tiny bit sweaty (I can't imagine a long-haired dog like Ellie in the heat here!). Tyson, one of Matt's best men, is also visiting for the weekend. We wanted her looking her best when he arrives tomorrow (we'll see if I can convince Matt to let me put a bow on her). :)
She didn't cry, although the bath was clearly not HER idea. :) Here's a series of shots from her first bath. :)

There you have it! She's still sleeping through the night and we can pretty much trust her in the kitchen (gated, but not confined to her crate) if we have to run down the hall or if we want to hang out in the living room.
We are very glad tomorrow is Friday. The first week of school is exhausting! My feet are BARKING too (although, our dog isn't--yea, so far she's not barky!). I think a good soak is in order very soon! We also celebrated our 10 month "anni"versary on the 15th. It's pretty hard to believe we had only 2 months until the wedding this time last year! We'd been apart for a month and Matt was getting settled here in Gainesville. It's weird that it's only 2 months until a year will have passed--it seems like it just happened but also that it was ages ago. We've moved twice since then, I got a job, I've now taught 2 of my very own classes, we adopted a dog, and a myriad of other things. :) What a difference a year makes!
We love you and we hope your weeks end well (and that your weekends begin well!)! :)
Love,
Becca

Woah...Matt cuts your luxurious locks!?! You really DID marry a princely hero! :) I have been thinking/praying for you a lot this week...that first week of school is always such a "balance" between strict/welcoming. I just love reading your blogs (especially the ones about Sammy since I'm such a dog-lover!), so keep 'em coming! No baby here yet, by the way! :)
kitsy
We are in our first week of school this year. It always makes me think of you and how much I MISS you here.
So on that note, I would like to be so bold as to re-write a sentence on your blog.
"It's pretty hard to believe we had only 2 months until the wedding this time last year! We'd been apart for a month and Matt was getting settled here in Gainesville" and I was still at Kylan's house every day!
I will have to tell you sometime how God has provided a teacher to help me get all of our homeschool work done. She started today.
Blessings to you. And kiss Sammy for us.
