Sorry I haven't written until now! The week has gone fast and yet slow at the same time. We are both TIRED! Whew--I can't believe spring break is still 3 weeks away!
We finished up FCAT stuff yesterday. I survived my first FCAT administration! Yea! Then today, I got a new student! The "newness" just doesn't stop. :) Tomorrow is our spring carnival, so I am staying after school to run my class' booth, along with some parent volunteers and my wonderful husband who is coming to help after work. My class has BINGO. :) After the carnival, we have already decided we will order pizza. I know I will be tired--12 hours at school. I'd rather not cook, so it's pizza tomorrow night!
We drove by two houses tonight that I found online. So far, our house hunting hasn't been so fruitful. But, since we're not ready to give a downpayment until June, that's okay. It's not time to find "the one" quite yet. Two weekends ago, we looked around a town north of here. WE couldn't find what we were looking for, but someone from Matt's work apparently has. We're waiting to get the neighborhood name from them. All we found was 60 year old houses that were barely big enough to be 2 bedrooms and had no garage or the right size, newer house but on a HUGE lot that totally prices us out. Then we went to a neighborhood last weekend that I REALLY liked online. Unfortunately, they haven't quite implemented the landscaping yet according to their plans. It's new construction, and so far it looks like a street of houses (though well-spaced) instead of a cozy neighborhood. Secondly, the particular spec house we were looking at sold. :-( It was on a corner lot that was not going to have ANY houses behind it--it backed up to open fields with a jogging path to the neighborhood tennis/basketball courts. And it DID have a huge hardwood in its side yard that shaded half the house. I just keep trusting that it must not be what God has picked out for us! Tonight one house was right behind a ton of community college apartments and not really much to look at for the price. The other turned out to be only a 1 car garage, and neither of us felt as comfortable in the neighborhood as we'd like. There was some shady apartments at the front/side of the neighborhood. It was reallllly 70s looking (see, we span from 70s to new construction!) on the outside, but had great sq. footage, a corner lot, and a wonderful remodeled kitchen. That was enough to make me consider if I could get past the outside (and if it would resell when needed), and I was willing to try. But, it just didn't quite fit the bill. So, onward I will browse. I'm hoping to call for the realtor referral tomorrow. Then we can at least get information about neighborhoods from a professional, even though we won't go looking until the end of this month or early April. If you think of it, please be praying God will clearly direct us and smooth the way, that we would agree wholeheartedly upon a house, have wisdom, discernment, and good counsel, AND that we would just know what to do! Our lease here is up the end of September, and we can't renew because they are doing condo conversion and we do NOT want to buy our unit.
I guess that's about all for now. Like I said, we're mostly ready for the weekend. :) We hope you've had a good week. :) I can't WAIT for Knoxville and spring break!! Please also pray for my class as they have spring fever and could use a break from each other. ;) We're also back in our "normal" routine, but that's still a change for the kids who have been on the FCAT schedule. I think Monday will be a good fresh start, and after spring break will really get us on the right track, ready to finish up the year. :)
We MISS you and love you!
Love,
Becca

Hi, Matt and Becca! This is the best way I knew to contact you. My spring break is this week, starting now, and I have spent a delightful evening catching up, smiling, and laughing. Your writing style is so Christ-filled and expressive that as I read, it feels like you are smiling and standing right in front of me recounting your adventures. So much to tell you--and a few questions for you. Please email or call sometime.
Jamey
P.s. I'm going to be doing research here, and not going back to Knoxville. Other friends are around, so hopefully will have some social time. Missing you, but glad you are finding so many blessings in each and every moment!
Keep praying Becca, when the right one hits you, you'll know. :) It's hard to find just what you're looking for but this is just such a HUGE purchase, you can't settle. It would be better to rent than settle. I know you know that. :) I love my little condo, but let me tell you that I can't wait till Adam and I are in a place where we can buy a house. I know you'll find the right place at the right time.
