Slightly Obsessed

An amazing surprise and blessing right before the wedding was a party Matt's co-workers threw for him his last day of work before flying up to Knoxville. They surprised him with mountains of morning treats--bagels, casseroles, fruit, and more--a card signed by everyone in engineering & development, and a $200 Sears gift card. , as well as the Craftsman Tools catalog. :) It blessed us both so much that in 3 months these people have grown to care about Matt and want to celebrate our wedding. Wow!

So, last night we went to Sears for Matt's initial tool browsing. He registered for tools at Sears, so we tried to print out registry. The "registry" was an internet-enabled computer on which you were to search the sears.com site for the registry section. Well, the connection was so slow, we couldn't even get to the sears.com homepage. The nearest employee commented, "Sears isn't exactly known for computers." Scratch the registry idea, we decided to just look around. I wrote down the tools that caught Matt's eye, along with their prices, for him to mull over at home. Then we went to the electronics department. Our honeymoon condo had flat screen tvs in all the bedrooms and the living room. I know Matt loves me, but he also fell in love with those tvs last week. :) The condo owners had the user manuals there, and Matt asked me to write down the model number of the tv, because he liked it so much. Naturally, we then searched for that tv at Sears. I can appreciate a sharp picture and good sound just as much as the next person, possibly slighly more since the men in my family are particularly "into" that, but I don't get all the intricacies of all the details. I think Matt had fun looking though, and he's still trying to decide..... tools or tv? I'll keep you posted on his "final answer."

After we finished at Sears, we planned to return a duplicate gift to Linens N Things. Yes, the Gainesville Oaks Mall might be incredibly outdated and lacking, but they have a LNT right in the mall. Just about the time we were headed that direction, I asked Matt what time it was. It was 7:45.... on Tuesday night...... anyone who knows me well knows that means GILMORE GIRLS!

Indeed, instead of going to LNT, I asked Matt to rush us home to see Gilmore Girls. We have enough credit for a Tivo, but it's not purchased yet, so nothing was set up to record my favorite show! And last week on our honeymoon, we didn't want to live around television, but we made a "date" to watch Gilmore Girls on Tuesday night. The problem was when we forgot we were in the central time zone. We plopped on the couch at 8:00 only to find that yucky Supernatural show on! OH NO! Mom and Dad to the rescue--they're saving it on their Tivo for us. :) I did NOT want to miss my favorite show 2 weeks in a row, and my husband sweetly obliged by getting us home in time and making me one of his soon-to-be-famous milkshakes (more on that in another post).

Our internet is still wacky at the townhouse--I'm giving it until tomorrow before I call and do something about it. But I did succesfully install our new printer/driver. I realized we don't have any printer paper, but we have the new printer working!

Lastly, our community is having a party tonight. I think it's a Cajun party (?). They have one once a month, catered, and pool-side with live music. I think Matt and I are going to stop by and see what the deal is... should be interesting.

That's all for this morning. I need to go to Linens N Things to actually return the duplicate gift and put some more things away at the house. I almost have the mountain of gifts dispersed to their proper locations. :) Yea!

God has been faithful to give me things to do, and Matt is easing back into the work world. We are SO eager for the weekend though. It will be fun to be together all day again. :)

LOVE,
Becca

When you said 7:45, Tuesday night, I immediately knew what the next line was going to be. Joy and I have it on our Tivo and we'll probably watch it tonight.

PS: The milkshakes sound good!

No, we did not make it to the cajun fest. Usually we can faintly hear the band's music wafting our way, but not last night. Matt worked a little late, we both just wanted to chill. They have a party every month, so maybe we'll make it to November's.

And YEA indeed for the upcoming weekend!
