Yesterday was Sammy's first vet visit, and she received a totally clean bill of health--hooray and praise the Lord! We know puppies can have a lot of trouble with worms (ick), so we are really thankful and relieved to report Sammy's test was clean. Yea! She was sooooo good. She didn't whimper or even move the slightest bit when she got her vaccination either! At that point the vet said, "That confirms it! She really is the perfect puppy!" (after hearing about her sleeping through the night, loving her crate, and doing decently on a leash). :) In three weeks she needs a parvo booster and soon she'll be old enough for her rabies shot, and then she's done until next year! Yea Sam-ster!
They also waived the office visit fee--either because we're new or rescued her, which was nice. And we got a "new puppy" pack which included a canvas bag with two magnets (the vet's and the emergency clinic's), a free month of Frontline, 2 free months of heartguard stuff, a free bag of Science Hill puppy food, all sorts of info, and a toy (picture to come, because I basically document EVERYTHING with photos)! Totally unexpected and fun. :) Sammy was a little extra tired this morning, but other than that she's pretty much been herself (no big reaction to the vaccination).
Things are fine, although super-duper busy, other than that. I can't believe September is half way over on Friday. That is bizarre. WHERE is this year going?? On one hand, I feel like I'm running a marathon sprint to keep up with everything at school/work and at home. I think the year will be over, or at least Christmas break will be here, before I know it. And that makes me feel relieved (for a break from this fast pace) and sad (I like this bunch of kids I have a lot!) at the same time. I really have to work to strike that balance of being present in the "now" right now--it's just so busy it's hard not to look forward to a less busy time. :)
This weekend Matt and I found some FUN stuff for our nephew who's on the way. One of Matt's coworkers was in the same store we were, so now we think the baby rumors might start up down here too. hehehe
I didn't leave school until 5, so Matt and I went out for dinner to celebrate our 11 month "anni"versary (Friday) early(we had a gift card for Texas Roadhouse). What a blessing!
It's late--I've been working on developing a math test, printing spelling homework (on our very temperamental printer--we NEED a new one), and helping Matt with some work stuff. Now I'm off to BED!!
Have a great Wednesday! :)
Love,
Becca
