Today I stopped by a Christmas tree lot to price their trees. At first we weren't going to get a tree (just use a little artificial one a teacher was giving away last year), because we'll be traveling around Christmas time. But then Matt thought we could use one for the first several weeks of December when we ARE here. So, I've been pricing. Publix is winning so far, with reasonable prices--especially for Florida!!
But the point is a stopped at a little independent lot, not knowing whether to expect them to be cheaper or expensive. They were the latter, to a considerable degree. But the funniest part was I saw something I have not encountered since we lived in Colorado--spray painted trees! The Fraser firs on this lot weren't super full or tall, but fine. The Douglas firs, on the other hand, had been spray painted a very unnatural shade of green. I had to stiffle a chuckle as I left the lot, not planning to return for any of their expensive, bare, short, funky green trees. :)
Just thought I'd share. I know we're in Florida, but there are enough trees in Gainesville for its residents to know what a Christmas tree should look like, especially its color. :)
More subbing tomorrow and Friday. And Frog Grandma is coming to see our house tomorrow. :)
Love you!

Painted trees!? What in the world? I have so never ever ever heard of that. That is pretty wild! Happy tree hunting!!!
They had painted trees in CO? You know Adam's allergic to pine trees?! No more real trees for us. Although we've had a fake tree for years. And then I buy pine scented candles and air spray. I know it's fake but it works right?
