All Kinds of Trouble

I got fingerprinted today....

I had to go downtown and get fingerprinted! "What new friends is Becca making in Florida??" you ask. "Are they getting her into trouble, already??" Well, I had to get fingerprinted in order to substitute in the local schools. Actually, fingerprinted and an FBI background check. Then the results can be sent on to the state board of education, so the final step of my teaching license transfer will be complete as well. I should receive my new FL teaching license before too long, if all goes well with getting the background check results mailed. (Lord willing). I don't know exactly when I'll start subbing, but it's nice to be working toward that option for when I'm ready. Some Monday morning I have to attend substitute orientation from 8:30-1:00 too. It doesn't sound like too much fun--classroom management, etc. I'm glad they have that for those who've never taught, but it'll be rather redundant for a licensed teacher. :)

Tonight we are having porcupine meatballs. They're not really made of porcupine. ;) They are meatballs mixed with rice (the rice is the "quills"). Last night I made BBQ crockpot chicken, and Matt gobbled it up! I also made the cheesey speared spuds, which he also gobbled up. :)

Today I finished putting our china away. I already stacked it in the china "armoir," and now I unwrapped each piece and stacked them with the cool felt separators we got at the Lenox outlet. Everything is fitting great so far in there!! We might need to break out the china for my birthday, Sunday... what do you think?

I'm hoping for a relaxing evening with my husband, and maybe a milkshake for dessert (it's been several days... the new surround sound system has kept him quite busy, but I'll let him tell you more about that).

Tomorrow is Friday, YEA!! I'm thinking I might put together our new headboard (thanks, Dad and Mom!) and a etagere we have for the master bath. Then I can re-reorganize the linen closet. :) I also need another laundry basket (for clothes that need to be ironed) and some spray and wash. AND, I'm going to look for a nice map of Gainesville. The Barnes and Noble is conveniently located next to the Michael's arts and crafts store. I went in there earlier this week, and it's a wonderful mix of the JoAnn's and A.C. Moore back home. I can finally stop holding my breath about a craft store down here. I think Michael's will cut it, in between trips to the Hobby Lobby and A.C. Moore that are opening in Jacksonville and Ocala, respectively, next year. :) I'll be able to craft after all! Praise the Lord!

I'm off now! Hopefully Matt can write about his sound system this weekend. :) I know you all are anxiously awaiting pictures of satellite speakers and the subwoofer... well, maybe Brad, Matt, and Dad are. ;)

WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!
Becca
