Catching Up

I have about one hour until I'm done being alone on my second whole day of being in Gainesville. Can you tell I'm anxious for my husband to return from work?? :) He very sweetly came home for lunch today, so I got to see him and I wasn't alone all day. This post-honeymoon stuff can stink sometimes. ;) What happened to hanging out all day every day on our little sliver of paradise (aka Silver Beach, Destin)?

Yesterday, on Matt's first day back, I tried to unpack some things. When I started to put all my clothes away, I realized I have NO idea what fall is like in Gainesville--do I need short sleeved stuff most easily accessible? Long sleeved? It's in the mid-60s here right now, much cooler than I anticipated, and I was afraid it was just because of Hurricane Wilma. But, to my pleasant surprise, this is normal Gainesville autumn--praise the Lord! In celebration, I wore long sleeves today. :) So I tried to figure out how to arrange my clothes yesterday, before I had the inside scoop on Gainesville's weather, and I eventually gave up and moved to grocery shopping. What fun to figure out a new grocery store and have to slowly peruse every single aisle, and still go back through them more than once because you missed something. For instance, the lunch meat is at the end of the liquor aisle. I, seeing the liquor, skipped that aisle and had to wander all over the store until I happened upon the lunch meat. :)

Today I finished hanging up my clothes--although I still need to organize by formal, semi-f0rmal, informal, warm, cool, etc. At least it's all hung up or folded and put away! I also did a couple loads of laundry. I've put a few things away here and there. It actually amounts to quite a bit, but it helps to do it in little spurts.

I ran to Wal-Mart and Target to get/return some things. Now I'm back and waiting for my honey! One hour to go!

My days aren't too eventful, but they are getting more full and keeping me busy and occupied. I can't wait for the weekend when Matt won't have to work, and, as Mom reminded me, we get an extra hour of sleep! Praise the Lord for "falling back."

We love and miss you! And we are thankful for you and God's presence even in this place we know so few people!

Love and blessings,
Becca

I really don't like learning a new grocery store layout. You'd think that all the stores could agree on a standard layout so you only have to learn where things are once and then you could go to whatever store you wanted. Too much to hope for?
