Thank you, Ashley!

About one-half yard each of the following fabrics is headed my way, thanks to a birthday gift certificate to Sew, Mama, Sew from sweet Ashley. :) Thank you, thank you!!

I have to admit, I'm not sure what everything will turn into. I have a couple ideas for some of them. But I decided, since it was a gift certificate, to let myself just go with what stood out to me. Projects can be determined later. :)

Thanks again, Ashley. It was absolutely delightful to scroll through their inventory and fill up my "shopping cart" with the click (or two, or three) of a button. :) I can't wait for them to get here!

Also today, we finally got our digital SLR ordered. I have wanted one for *quite* some time. Matt kindly agreed that we could use the money I earned by teaching summer institute to purchase a digital rebel (canon's line of digital SLRs). Amazon dropped their price dramatically recently, which Brad alerted me to (thank you!), and now it's on its way! I can't wait to use it! :)

We hope you are having a good week. I have only 1 week of school left. We'll be on our way home for a "tender Tennessee Christmas" before we know it! Hooray!!

Love,
Becca

Look at all your cool new fabric!!! Wow! I LOVE the fish!!! I wish that I could say that with all my Christmas making that my stash is running low but alas...I cannot! I need to come up with another excuse for buying more fabric! :) JCaroline is haveing some random sales this week with some free shipping thrown in if you know the magic code and I know the magic code so maybe that justifies new fabric. Hmmm, I shall keep working on this thought process! Happy new fabric to you!!!

P.S. You never need to know what you are going to make when getting fabric! :) It is nice to have a little stash for spur of the moment projects! Gee, I am going to be in trouble with your husband someday for sharing that...just ask my husband about my "little stash". I have to admit that it has come in very handy a few times!!!

Ohhh...my favorite fabric is the second one with the crazy flowers! :) I've been so inspired by you and Joy that I borrowed my mom's sewing machine but have yet to use it (cause I don't know how-I need Mom to give me a home ec. class!). Also, what's an SLR? I need to google it so I can be in the tech-KNOW! :)
Praying for you and the longings of your heart! May they match GOD's plans for you!

Yea for Kay! :) You know, I can't really say I know all that much about sewing either. Way back I made a little purse for my youngest cousin and a few little outfits for some stuffed animals I think. :) But it's Joy's sewing and embroidery that made me want to try again. And our family friend Kim's amazing craftiness for her three kiddos (I STILL want to learn how to smock after seeing all she had!!). I have found it just takes turning the machine on and trying something. :) Moral support is really nice to have too, though. :)

And the SLR is a digital camera. It stands for single lens reflex, and it has to do with the image you see in the view finder. On a point-and-shoot, what you see is not ACTUALLY what the lens "sees." With an SLR, it is. It also has interchangeable lenses, etc. I have a film SLR (Canon Rebel), but I reallllly wanted a digital one. :) And as I said, Matt sweetly agreed that we could use some of my summer earnings to acquire one. :)
