A Little More...

Yesterday I intended to come home and take a nap, but "things to do" overcame me (in a good way) that I was excited to get done. You can see from my last post that I decorated and hung wreaths on our windows. We also have one for the front door, but I haven't retrieved it from our "Christmas boxes" yet. :)

In addition to the wreaths, I put together a wooden bench my parents sent us for our anniversary. We had the perfect spot for a little place to sit, change shoes, look at mail, etc. We found a bench that seemed just right at Target, but then they sold out online. Then my mom found an identical bench on a different website and sent it down. I finally got around to putting it together. I figured with the hinges that it would be a tougher job than it turned out to be. The seat hinges were already assembled--yessss! It actually required only 4 steps to put the bench together, and it's GREAT! It currently houses all of our board games except two (Risk and Disney Scene It) and 2 puzzles we have. Matt half-kiddingly said he wanted the boxes cleared out of the extra bedroom as a Christmas present, and this is a step in the right direction (that extra bedroom is where all the games used to be). I also went around that bedroom and sorted through things. It was quite fun--I found all the sweaters I've been missing (only to have the high be 80 today)!! I can't wait for another cool down to wear them! :) Now I'm looking for a little mission-style occasion or side table for next to the bench and a wall shelf, maybe with hooks, for above the bench. It's really coming together!

P.S. I enjoyed putting the bench together so much (along with the other furniture I've assembled) that Matt says he's going to start just buying me unassembled furniture for gift giving occasions and "let me go at it." :) hehe
