Still Here

Sorry it's been so long since an update... almost 10 days! Gasp!

We are doing fine, though this continues to be a super busy month. Last weekend Matt went up to Michigan for some friends' wedding. My mom came down to spend the weekend with me, which was delightful and such a relief. For whatever reason, being sick with the coughing crud sapped all my energy. I tried doing laundry, but the dirty clothes mounted and then the CLEAN clothes mounted into an ironing pile that was quite overwhelming. Mom was such a blessing and got us all caught up. She also fixed the chair pockets for my classroom so they fit the chairs perfectly. The kids are so excited about them! :) And they seem to be really helping cut down on the "rummaging through your desk" to find something problem.

I recently submitted an order to the Scholastic book orders for the second time. I got to pick out several selections for my class library as well as some teacher resource books. I even get class sets of 2 different books! I like Scholastic. :)

We ordered a new gate to keep Sammy in the kitchen. The one we had wasn't long enough to mount, and she managed to nudge it (she mastered her technique) and escape frequently. Then, when we finally found something heavy enough to hold it, she started CLIMBING it! We now have (it just arrived today) a gate with vertical bars (the other had "X" shaped crossings), which should help with the climbing issue. She's still pretty happy as a lark and fun to be around. :)

This weekend is our one year anniversary, which is pretty amazing! I reminded Matt that on Wednesday the week of the wedding (the equivalent of today), he was flying into Knoxville for the wedding and we were being serenaded at the airport by sweet family and friends. It's incredible how quickly this year has flown by!

I guess that's about all for now. Thanks again, Mom, for all the help around the house and the yummy meals. We are still enjoying them. :) We miss you, but we can't wait to see you at E's wedding!

Love,
Becca

I have been checking your site faithfully to hear about your time with your Mom!! I'm glad you had some time to update! Next time you think about it and have a camera handy, I'd LOVE to see these "chair pockets"...I can't even imagine what they might look like. :) Hope you're getting at least SOME fall-type weather down in Sunny Florida!
