This weekend Matt and I were in his hometown in South Carolina to celebrate and participate in the wedding of Rick and Katy (Matt was a groomsman). Matt and Rick have known each other since preschool and became especially good friends in high school. Rick played trumpet in their high school's band, and Matt played marching french horn. Actually, Tyson did too, and he was also a groomsman (Tyson was one of Matt's best men)! It was fun to see the three guys together again. :)
We arrived LATE Thursday night/Friday morning. On Friday we picked up Matt's tux and such (and saw Tyson). Then we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner Friday night. It was a Catholic nuptual mass, which was a new experience for Matt and me (and Tyson), and I think Matt and Tyson were both glad for the rehearsal to learn some of the nuances of the Catholic mass. :) It was a great chance for me to observe, in addition to celebrating Rick and Katy, in preparation for Erin's wedding in October. :) The guys went bowling after the rehearsal dinner, and Matt finally crawled in bed with me around 2:30 AM!
We also got to meet Matt's sister for lunch on Friday, which was FUN! On Saturday, Matt had to be dressed and to the church by noon for the beginning of pictures. I joined him there just before 2:00 (the ceremony time) with his mom. It was really sweet. I walked in the entrance of the chuch and saw Matt, but he did not see me (I got dressed in my wedding outfit after he left for pictures). When he DID see me as I approached him, his face lit up. :) When I finally got to him so he could escort me to a pew, he told me he'd gone numb all over, his stomach did flip flops, and he went weak in the knees when he saw me. He is the BEST! :)
After the wedding, which was lovely, we were off to the reception. Rick and Katy had a fun little jazz band playing at the reception which provided a really cool atmosphere. I joked with Matt about how nice it was of Katy's family to throw such an AMAZING birthday party for him (Saturday was also Matt's birthday). :)

Today we left to come home. Our house was waiting oh-so-nicely for us, and a neighbor even offered to start us some hydrangea from cuts of hers after she heard from another neighbor about ours getting swamped from the tropical storm! How sweet is that? All we have to do is take her some potting soil (which we bought when we got our hydrangea) and she'll get it going for us! We are so excited!!!
One last weird thing, a policeman is here right now, because a neighbor's child is missing (has been for 4 hours)--and has done this before--just wandered into a neighbor's home that he'd never been in before (that's why they're checking everybody's house). They checked the car we have parked outside, the backyard, and now the house. And there are choppers flying around above. Second time for choppers in a week! Weeeiiirrrddd. I'm sure glad my hubby's home!
Tonight we might go see Cars, especially after Dad's glowing review. :) We'll let you know if we do and what we thought of it! I'll close for now with one last picture. I found the skirt (and another one) for 50% off each the day we left for South Carolina. It was an exciting find! We hope you are all well and have a great day off tomorrow! We're so glad for another day of vacation. :)

Love and blessings,
Becca

What a busy weekend for you?! I'm glad you had fun! Matt is so handsome all gussied up and you are amazing...no wonder he went weak in the knees! I love that skirt. I hope the find the kid and that your pieces of hydranga work! That's really sweet of your neighbor.
How was your glimpse of the Catholic wedding? Anything thoughts? Let me know what you think about Cars. Tori said it was good and I want to see it but I'm having trouble convincing Adam.
Have a super week!
