Happy Thanksgiving (almost) / Picture Post!

Here are some pictures of what kept me busy today!

I made 2 chocolate chip pies--one for our freezer and one to take to the Kubos' for Thanksgiving. We tried pieces of ours tonight... our oven bakes REALLY fast, so I pulled the pies out early to prevent burning. They probably could have baked a smidge longer (not quite cakey in the middle, a weency bit gooey), but it still tasted delicious!

I also made a wreath for our front door. I twisted some artificial ivy around a grapevine wreath and tucked in some artificial mums. After Thanksgiving I'll switch out the ivy/blossoms for something more Christmas-y. :) But it makes our door more festive. :)

I also distributed some Thanksgiving decorations throughout the house. It was fun to pull them from the cedar chest at the end of our bed! I hung up the sweet "Happy Thanksgiving with the pilgrims, pie, pumpkin, and corn near our foyer (the nook across from the computer desk). I put the "Give Thanks" in front of our wedding invitation and the book I gave Matt for our wedding (it seemed particularly appropriate there ;) ), I put out our turkey placemats (which we used tonight--Matt even tucked the silverware into the pockets in the feathers!) and oven mitt, and I put out some fall leafy votive holders on top of our entertainment center. Yea! It's fun to look around and see the decorations. They remind me of home and my mom's holiday decorations. :)

You also see a picture of our china "cabinet." It's really an armoire, but that's what we have for now. I had a lot of fun unpacking and organizing everything. It's SUCH a blessing that it all fit with room to spare!

Lastly, we used some Target gift cards to get a TiVo tonight, before the rebate period expires. Yippeeee!! I can hear those "boop boop boop" noises already. :) And no more missing Gilmore Girls! It is DEFINITELY a luxury, but it also definitely cuts down on the amount of tv you watch, because you don't flip through channels trying to find something. You watch what you like to watch. And no commercials is nice too; we have to work at squeezing out every minute possible of time together, especially when I'm teaching!

That's about it for now. I need to go fold some clean laundry--Matt will be so excited. :)

We LOVE you, we are THANKFUL for you and for our GOD who has placed you in our hearts and lives and for the gift of His PRECIOUS Son, Jesus Christ!

Love,
Us :)
