Today was my second day subbing in fifth grade. I thought I would be in a different class than last week, but I got to stick with them! That was an exciting blessing. :) (right now I'm listening to Christmas music on iTunes, trying to decide if there are any gems I should use more of my birthday certificate on--thanks Brad and Joy :).... I'm a little giddy to hear Christmas music!). Anyway, the students seemed excited enough that I was still their sub. I have to say, it's pretty amazing to write "Mrs. Kubo" on the board..... wow! Today when I picked up our mail at home, I realized that my class last year was the last to ever know me as "Miss Guilford!" That's amazing! But, I don't remember if Matt taught me this or not, but I tell them to say it, "Q like the letter and bow like a bow tie." They all think that's pretty cool. ;) Thanks honey, now I have a cool name. Before it was borin ol' "Gill likes a fish and Ford like a car." One fifth grade boy equated the "bow" with a bow and arrow--extra bonus cool points for me. :) I have one more day with them tomorrow, and then I'm still lined up for some first graders the first week of December. I've caught some glimpses of my new classroom and me the teacher. I hope to talk with her and see more of my room tomorrow. It's still sinking in that I'll have my very own classroom! But back to the fifth graders... they are just a category of their own--wow. I am thankful subbing is going well with them, because you just NEVER know what to expect with them! I think the definition above suits them pretty well. ;)
We also received our wedding proofs over the weekend, thanks to Mom and Dad overnighting them and the USPS. :) Happy sigh..... they are wonderful to look at! I'm SO thankful we get the whole proof album... now to select and order the actual album... Hmmm, we'll work as quickly as we can. ;)
I'm currently trying to decide on some Christmas card ideas, then I'll have to get busy making them (Matt's on his way home--yahoooo!). I also need to do some ironing... although a lot of it is short-sleeve weather kinds of clothes, and it seems we have finally hit long-sleeve weather down here in Gainesville.
I think we are having cresecent roll pizza for dinner... I should go check. :)
Oh yeah, one more thing...
Happy Anniversary, Brad & Joy!! We love you!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes!! We are so glad that the 5th grad is going well. I am sure that they are a never dull moment kind of group. :) I remember 5th grade! We love you guys!
Congratulations on surviving 5th grade! The big kids can be so fun when they don't have an attitude. :) I'm really super proud of you! I love you lots!
